As you may be aware we collect fruit, veg & bread from Sainsburies in Brentwood on a daily basis to help feed the 50 rescued Pigs.
The fruit & veg comes in black plastic crates which are returned to Sainsbury the next day. However in Winter, the crates can pick up dirt & mud & so have to be cleaned before we can return them.
Over the past year or so we have built up quite a backlog of crates requiring cleaning & these are stacked up across the road next to Percy Pigs paddock.
What do I have to do?
Well the work is very easy & simply involves hosing down the crates (water supply & hose is there ready) & scrubbing the dirt off with a brush (provided!) and then stacking them up ready to be taken back to Sainsburies.
The work is better suited to the Summer months as with a hose on it can get a bit wet!
We have had people over twice before to clean crates, but there are still plenty more to clean up.
Once you have been shown what to do, this is a job that you can be left alone to get on with, or return on another occassion & know what has to be done etc etc

This project kicked off on 25th July !
Ana - Magda's mum did a cracking job of cleaing so many of the crates whilst we were collecting the Hay in
We are particulary grateful to Ana as she was only here in the UK for 1 weeks to see her daughter before flying home to Poland & came over to the Sanctuary today (from West London) despite flying back to Poland first thing in the morning (6 am)
Ana has her own Sanctuary in Poland & as soon as we get the link to Ana's site we will post it here.
